About Springwell Alternative Academy Mablethorpe
Nurturing Potential, Inspiring Futures
Nestled in the heart of Mablethorpe, Springwell Mablethorpe is more than just a school; it is a specialist alternative provision dedicated to nurturing the potential of every student. We provide a safe and supportive learning environment for pupils from Key Stage 1 through to Key Stage 4 (ages 5-16) who face social, emotional, and mental health challenges. Our core mission is to empower our students to overcome barriers, re-engage with their education, and build the foundations for a successful future. Recognised as an ‘Outstanding’ provision by Ofsted, we are committed to fostering an environment where every child can feel safe, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential.
Our core mission is to reignite a passion for learning and to equip our students with the skills, resilience, and confidence to navigate their next steps, whether that be a successful return to mainstream schooling, transitioning to a specialist provision, or embarking on post-16 education and training. We cater for students across Key Stages 1 to 4, offering a broad and balanced curriculum that is tailored to individual needs and learning styles. Springwell Mablethorpe is a short-stay provision for our younger students, with the primary goal of successfully reintegrating them into mainstream education or transitioning them to a specialist setting that best suits their long-term needs. For our Key Stage 4 students, we provide a stable and aspirational environment to support them through to the completion of their secondary education.
Our curriculum is as unique as our students. We focus on a developmental approach that meets each child where they are, building on their strengths and addressing their individual learning gaps. Alongside a strong academic focus, we place a significant emphasis on personal development, helping our students to build confidence, resilience, and essential life skills.
At the heart of the Springwell approach is a deeply embedded culture of trauma-informed practice and unconditional positive regard. We understand that every child’s journey is unique, and our dedicated team of highly trained staff work tirelessly to build trusting relationships, creating a calm and supportive atmosphere where students feel understood and respected.
A Community Built on Care and Aspiration

Our recent ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted inspection highlighted the exceptional quality of our educational provision and the transformative impact we have on our students’ lives. We believe in a holistic approach to education, where academic progress is interwoven with personal development. Through a rich and varied curriculum, coupled with a wide range of extracurricular activities and therapeutic interventions, we help our students to develop not only their knowledge and skills but also their self-esteem, social skills, and emotional well-being.
We see parents and carers as essential partners in their child’s education and are committed to working in close collaboration to achieve the very best outcomes. We believe that by working together, we can create a powerful support network that enables every child to flourish.
At Springwell Mablethorpe, we don’t just see students; we see individuals with unique talents, strengths, and aspirations. We are dedicated to providing them with the tools, opportunities, and unwavering support they need to build a bright and successful future.
